Amaryllis Wilting

We listened to a fascinating talk on the history of our space program and the space shuttle this morning. Congress was lead to believe the space shuttle would only cost $100 per pound to take stuff into space. In reality the cost is something like $22,000 per pound. If  anyone thinks government run healthcare will be cheaper, just look at the real cost of almost any government program, and what the shuttle program cost compared to what it was sold as. Like P.J. O'Rourke said "If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until it's free!"

A wilting amaryllis is a great subject. So are all the crocus, daffodils and pear blossoms. Guildenstern was not happy when I pinched him to get him to look at the camera, and he gave me his Catzilla look.

I cooked a stir fry vegetable dish out of our latest Fine Cooking for dinner. Now we have Thai curries and various other recipes to try. Fine Cooking is full of fun and adventure!
