Mirrored Flowers

I think I set a record on irrigating tonight. I went out at 5:15 this afternoon and put the gate down — I pulled it back up at 8:20 this evening. While I was out raking the leaves out of the ditch as the water was coming in, Rosencrantz got out in the meadow and soon found himself in the water. I got a photo of him in the grass, while I was coaxing him to jump over the ditch. I was going to snap a photo of him soaring through the air over the ditch, but as luck would have it, my battery died, so I missed the shot of Rosencrantz sailing over the water. Oh well, maybe next time.

A Rainbow of Colors daffodils have changed to a light peach as you can see from the photo I included tonight. They are still holding their shape, so it will be interesting to see if they still change color.

I was watching for a sunset, but nothing materialized from my perspective. Instead of a sunset, I included the storm clouds over the Sandias tonight.

When I went out to turn off the water at 8:10, the overcast sky was a glowing, coral color. There was enough light reflecting off the clouds that I found a gopher hole I could hear gurgling water, and plugged it. I heard it the last few times I irrigated, but I couldn't find it.

Puck has been getting very disgusted about having to come in at dusk. From his point of view, the temperature has been perfect, and, since he's a cat, he can see just fine in the dark. He's not scared of that stinking la Llorona or coyotes, either. Besides, he knows we have the spirit of a big, black dog that roams the property at night and keeps the coyotes out. So in complete disgust, he gave me "mad dogs" for making him come in and then having the gall to photograph him on top of it all!
