Guildenstern doesn't like to wear hats, but he likes to be carried around the garden under a hat. He really thinks he's special when Laurie walks around the garden with him on her shoulder, under the brim of her hat.
The wind was so strong today that it made it about impossible to photograph anything with the wind whipping it around. Today's hurricane was worse than Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair!" If she got out in today's wind it would probably break her neck. Needless to say all the insects took cover, and the poor plants were hanging on for dear life.
By dialing up the shutter speed, I managed to get the latest on A Rainbow of Color daffodil. It's still peach colored and I'm thinking that's it as far as its color changes, but I'll see tomorrow.
I'm not sure if it was a friend, salesperson, someone planning a home invasion or the kids playing in the neighbor's yard, but after hearing an agonizing scream near the front door, the only thing I could see was a the reddish edges of a man eating tulip I planted in the fall. I always thought tax season was scheduled in April to be far away from the elections. But the elections may be scheduled in November to make sure the man eating tulips are dormant!
Speaking of taxes, I finished our taxes today. All I have to say is that we made less money in 2010 than in 2009 and paid more in state taxes — go figure. We paid less in Federal taxes, but that's only because we were able to take the "make work count" or whatever it is, and some of Laurie's educational expenses off our taxes. We have about as of simple taxes as a family can have, and yet it takes several hours to go through a figure out all the credits, rebates, etc.. We are not eligible for most of the government tax handouts, yet I have to spend hours and hours figuring it out. It's such a waste of time. Many people think corporations are evil, but they don't put you in jail for not buying their products!

Tulip on fire. It's too hot where we have these purple tulips planted. |
