Dead Leaves

Leaves on the ground are such a nuisance for so many people. They curse them, rake them, bag them and haul them for miles to get the unsightly cellulose off their lawns and out of their yards.

For us dead leaves become a part of our mulch we spread in the yard. Wood chips, leaves and cardboard all turn into topsoil we use for gardening.

Dead leaves are also a rich subject for a photographer with a macro lens. Closeups of leaves capture the veiny patterns and the variety of colors, some subtle, others brilliant, demonstrating their beautiful forms and texture often missed by those who wage war on leaves.

Macro photography is challenging, but really fun because you can capture really interesting images that stand by themselves or can work in combination with other macro images to create fun and fantastic looking photos.
